Couch Potato
Choreographers/Performers: L. Mattson and Josephine Starr
Music: The Four Seasons "Summer" III. Presto by Antonio Vivaldi
L. Mattson received their dance training in studios from around their home town in Blue Springs MO, and is graduating in May 2021 from Webster University with both a BA in Dance and Psychology. The combination of these two fields of study have fueled a passionate curiosity for the body and mind and how it operates in a social setting. They have both choreographed for and performed in numerous Webster University Dance concerts, and performed the summer of 2020 with Jacob Henss in "Do not go gentle." Next fall, they will begin their graduate study of social work and sexual public health, looking to integrate movement into their practice.
Josephine Starr, born and raised in Marshall Missouri, began her dance training at Broadway Bound Dance Studio, competing and training there under Torey Spitzig until 2017. While at Webster University she has had the privilege of working with artists such as Xi Zhao, Gregory Dawson, Tara Webbe Filomena Cacciatore, Antonio Douthit-Boyd, and others in both in classes and performance opportunities. Outside of Webster she has had the privilege to train with companies across the United States, some of these include Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Backhaus Dance, Visceral Dance Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet. Josephine graduates Webster University in December of 2020 receiving her BFA in Dance with an emphasis in ballet.
