Gardenia Gilbert is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a 2015 graduate of Ball State University. She has trained at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music preparatory dance department. She majored in dance at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. Gardenia has danced for 17 years which consisted primarily of ballet, and 10 years of modern and contemporary training. She has performed with Ball State Dance Theater, the university’s dance company. Gardenia has had the pleasure of doing a few summer intensives and workshops in the midwest. Such as Common Thread Contemporary Ballet, MamLuft&Co, and the American Dance Festival, etc. Gardenia moved to St. Louis after graduating to start her professional dance career with Common Thread Contemporary Ballet, with whom she danced with from 2015-2019. Gardenia has had the good fortune of collaborating with local St. Louis artists, including choreographers from Washington University’s MFA dance program and Kinetic Tapestry. As she continues her journey in the professional dance world, she looks forward to cultivating her artistry and building new connections.
