Artist Statement

Especially in the early months of COVID 19 when no one could move through the world in the way they wanted to, drawing and painting enabled me to continue to process what was going on around and inside me in an artistic way. My work aims to excise those visceral physical reactions that the human body has in response to feelings of isolation, confinement, and uncertainty. While dealing with themes such as these, it was important to me to also find the humorous or ironic twist in order to maintain perspective on what is important when it is so easy to get caught up in our own world of hurt and anxiety.
