R. Vance Baldwin, (Associate Director) is a highly accomplished professional director, choreographer, dancer, singer, and teacher with a diverse and impactful career spanning Missouri, Kansas, and beyond. His work has graced stages nationally, including New York City and Oakland, and internationally, with performances in the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Mexico, France, and South Africa. As Artistic Director of Taylor’s Academy of Dance (2021-Present) and with a rich history of directorial roles, including Leverage Dance Theater and Creative Arts Productions, Inc., R. Vance brings a wealth of experience to every project. Notable directing credits include "Moana, Jr.," "Elf, Jr.," and numerous productions for Reckless In Motion Dance Company, such as "Bar Life: An 80’s Dance Extravaganza" and "Grand Budapest Hotel." His choreography is equally impressive, with a vast portfolio spanning concert stage and musical theater. Highlights include collaborations with Missouri Baptist University, Leverage Dance Theater, Karlovsky & Company Dance, Modern American Dance Company, and numerous others. His musical theater choreography has been featured in productions like "Moana, Jr.," "Elf, Jr.," "Rocky Horror Show," and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." As a performer, R. Vance has showcased his talent with Leverage Dance Theater, Karlovsky & Company Dance, Common Thread Contemporary Ballet, and Modern American Dance Company, among others. He has graced prestigious events such as the Spring to Dance Festival and Modern Night at the Folly. R. Vance is also a dedicated educator, teaching at Taylor’s Academy of Dance and previously at Stars R Us Dance Studio, Midwest Dance Academy, and Dance Arts Center. He has conducted master classes at Webster University, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and for Modern American Dance Company. With a BFA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music & Dance and a B.S.Ed. from Missouri Western State University. R. Vance Baldwin brings a strong educational foundation to his multifaceted career. He is a recipient of the Mayor’s Awards for the Arts: Arts Educator (2020) and has received nominations and awards for his performance work.
